Toggl Track

Toggl Track is the time tracking tool that became the default recommendation for freelancers, consultants, and agencies who need to track billable hours without friction. Founded in Estonia in 2006 by Alari Aho, Toggl bootstrapped to over $20M ARR and later split its product line into Toggl Track (time tracking), Toggl Plan (project planning), and Toggl Hire (recruiting assessments). The one-click timer interface — no project or category required to start tracking — became the product's signature differentiator. Toggl Track's growth was driven by a generous free plan (unlimited tracking for up to 5 users), broad integrations (100+ tools via Zapier plus native browser extensions that inject a "track time" button into Asana, Jira, GitHub, and Trello), and excellent mobile apps. The fully remote team of 130+ people across multiple time zones proved that Estonian startups could build world-class products without Silicon Valley's capital or network.
