ImageKit is the real-time media optimization and management platform Abhinav Jain and Aditi Jain bootstrapped from Gurugram, India in 2017. It processes images and videos on the fly — resize, crop, format convert, compress — and delivers them via a global CDN, similar to Cloudinary but with a developer-friendlier API and pricing that scales more affordably for startups. The company grew to $3M+ ARR serving 800+ businesses including startups and enterprises that need professional media delivery without Cloudinary's enterprise price tag. ImageKit's Digital Asset Management (DAM) module — a cloud media library where teams can upload, organize, search, and share images and videos — made it more than a CDN: it became the single source of truth for a company's visual assets. The real-time URL-based transformation API (append ?tr=w-800,h-600,f-webp to any image URL to get a perfectly optimized version) required zero code changes to implement and worked with existing img src attributes, making it a drop-in performance improvement for any website.
