Peter Hrbáčik launched KWFinder in 2014 as a solo side project — a keyword research tool that was simply easier to use than the incumbents. He added more tools — SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner, SiteProfiler — and rebranded the suite as Mangools in 2016. Growth came entirely through content marketing and SEO: detailed comparison articles, tutorials, and a generous free trial. By 2018 the company was generating $220k/month with a small team based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Mangools crossed $2.5M ARR and served over 1.1 million users and 25,000 paying customers worldwide. No venture funding, no ad spend — just relentless focus on making SEO tools that professionals actually enjoyed using. It remains one of the best examples of a niche SaaS tool defeating category leaders through UX and price positioning.
