A solo-built search engine aggregates over 200,000 open-source icons into a single, searchable interface, solving the fragmented experience developers and designers face when hunting across dozens of scattered icon libraries. The creator built Iconbuddy as a one-person project, indexing icons from more than 100 open-source collections and adding premium features like in-browser SVG editing and icon customization. Monetized through a one-time fee for advanced tools, the platform generates $4,000 per month without any team or outside funding.
