Ecamm Network launched Ecamm Live around 2017 as a Mac-native live streaming application targeting podcasters, YouTubers, and live streamers who wanted professional broadcast quality without the complexity of enterprise video production software. Ecamm Live allowed multi-camera switching, lower thirds, guest interviews via Skype/Zoom, scene transitions, and direct streaming to YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch — all from a polished Mac app. The software caught the wave of live streaming's growth on social platforms and the creator economy's explosion. Podcasters, course creators, and online educators adopted it as their default studio software. Ecamm sold via annual subscription and through Setapp, growing to an estimated $200k+/month in revenue. The company expanded its product line to include other Mac utilities and served a highly vocal, loyal community of Mac-based content creators who spread the product through tutorials and reviews.
