Alexey Smorodinov and the team behind Railsware launched Coupler.io from Ukraine in 2020 as a data integration tool focused on a specific pain point: getting data from SaaS apps (Airtable, HubSpot, Shopify, Facebook Ads) into spreadsheets automatically. The existing solutions were either too expensive (enterprise ETL tools) or too technical (writing custom API scripts). Coupler.io occupied the middle: affordable, no-code, focused on the spreadsheet user who just wanted their data flowing automatically. The product grew through SEO targeting long-tail queries like "import Airtable to Google Sheets automatically" and through Product Hunt launches. Revenue grew to $100k+/month from thousands of paying subscribers, mostly marketers, analysts, and ops teams. The company continued to expand integrations and add BI tool support (Looker Studio, Power BI). Built and operated during wartime in Ukraine, Coupler.io became a symbol of Ukrainian tech resilience, continuing to build and grow a profitable bootstrapped SaaS through extraordinary circumstances.
